A Marina That Belongs to Its Boaters

Most marinas answer to an operator. Ours answers to its neighbors. Bonita Bay Marina — together with Backwater Jacks Bar & Restaurant — is owned exclusively by the residents of Bonita Bay, which changes everything about how the place feels: the docks are kept Bristol fashion, the crew knows your name and your boat, and decisions are made for the long love of the harbor rather than the quarter.

That spirit reaches beyond the seawall. The marina is a proud sponsor of the FineMark Women's Pro Tennis Championships, and Backwater Jacks was the first restaurant in Lee County to endorse the Eat Local Lee initiative connecting local food producers with the community table.

The Setting

The marina rests on the Imperial River at the south end of Estero Bay — Florida's first aquatic preserve — inside one of Southwest Florida's most celebrated communities. The marked channel runs north to New Pass and the open Gulf, past mangrove islands, seagrass flats, dolphins and wading birds. Few home ports anywhere offer a finer commute.

Visiting the Marina

Bonita Bay is a gated community. If you're visiting by car, call us at (239) 495-3222 ahead of your visit so we can clear you through the gate house. Arriving by water? The transient dock welcomes boaters any time — including for lunch or dinner at Backwater Jacks.

Come See the Point

Call ahead, clear the gate and walk the docks — the best way to choose a marina is to stand on one at sunset.
